The Department of Population Health Sciences in the School of Public Health at Georgia State University is seeking outstanding applicants for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in Environmental Health.
Our research and teaching interests include air and water quality and their links to public health, the epidemiology of environmental exposures, the health impacts of climate change, and social equity and justice in environmental health. We are particularly interested in the application of these to urban environments. We are seeking candidates whose prior experience involves epidemiological analysis of environmental health data, potentially with laboratory or field analysis components.
The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an externally-funded research program in collaboration with internal and external colleagues. Applicants are therefore expected to demonstrate scholarly accomplishments, including a strong publication record, successful pursuit of extramural research funding, and well-established professional collaborations. Candidates should also demonstrate the potential for excellence in undergraduate and/or graduate-level teaching and mentoring.
The ideal candidate will hold a doctorate in Public Health, Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a closely-related field. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, and candidates must display a willingness and ability to contribute to the University and profession through service activities.
The selected candidate will join an exceptional core faculty in the area of Environmental Health housed in the multi-disciplinary Department of Population Health Sciences within the School of Public Health at Georgia State University.
