Part Time Arena Concessions Staff

Position Summary:
A Member of the University of Dayton Arena Concessions Staff will be responsible for back of stand operations, including grilling burgers and chicken breasts, deep frying wedge fries and fish, steaming hot dogs, stocking stands, popping popcorn, and other concessions’ duties. This position includes building sandwiches and coordinating orders on an as needed basis depending on sales. They are also to ensure that their area of responsibility is free of debris and hazards as required. This is a part time, no benefits position.
Minimum Qualifications:

18 years or older
Free of criminal convictions for ANY felony, misdemeanor of violence and misdemeanor of sexual misbehavior,
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and have the ability to successfully work in a fast-paced and occasionally high-stressed environment, and to lift 30lbs consistently
Ability to work effectively in a large facility, and
Ability to learn and retain multiple policies and instructions.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Experience in cooking for large crowds in a short amount of time
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills,
Ability to speak professionally and assertively, but not aggressively to patrons and Stand Volunteers

Special Instructions to Applicants:

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.

The University will continue to monitor the state of the pandemic on campus and in the community as well as developments in federal and state requirements, and also will continue to regularly consult with public health officials and our medical panel. As has been the case throughout the pandemic, our protocols and requirements are subject to change depending on conditions on campus or in our community, and government requirements.
