A.T. Still University's School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA) invites applications for a part-time, exempt RDME Clinical Liaison on the Mesa, Arizona campus. The RDME Clinical Liaison is a liaison between the Regional Directors of Medical Education (RDME) at the Community Health Center (CHC) partner sites and the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education. This person provides direction and guidance to RDMEs as relating to policies, requirements and accreditation standards, provides feedback to ATSU-SOMA leadership regarding RDME clinical education delivery needs, and maintains bi-directional communication between RDMEs and ATSU-SOMA Leadership to ensure adherence to accreditation standards and student success.

Major Job Duties:
  • Provide RDMEs updates and instructions as related to ATSU-SOMA policies, requirements, and COCA accreditation standards.
  • Provide new RDMEs with orientation.
  • Provide RDMEs updates and instruction concerning ATSU-SOMA curriculum delivery.
  • Provide bi-directional communication between RDMEs and the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education and the Assistant Dean of Innovation and Clinical Curriculum as it relates to clerkship operation requirements and clinical curriculum.
  • Provide bi-directional communication between RDMEs and the Associate Dean of Innovation and Curricular Integration and the Assistant Dean of Innovation and Curricular Integration as it relates to OMS II curriculum and COMLEX preparation.
  • Provide bi-directional communication between RDMEs and the Assistant Dean of Student Achievement and Accreditation as it relates to academic / professional advising, MSPE preparation and residency planning.
  • In collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education, will meet bi-annually with all RDMEs and will participate in the RDME performance management process including recognition, annual evaluations, and coaching as necessary.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Faculty Development, provide input from the RDMEs and assist in planning for the annual Faculty Development Conference.
  • Collaborate with ATSU-SOMA leadership and the CED to coordinate OMS II, III, and IV orientation programming for the start of each academic year.
  • Travel to CHC sites as needed per the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education.
  • Demonstrate core leadership behaviors and embodies RICH culture.
  • Create a culture of accountability and excellence by empowering all RDMEs to be champions of ATSU-SOMA mission, vision and values.
  • Empower RDMEs through effective communication and leadership development to provide RDME representation in committees as necessary.
  • Support RDME duties at CHC partner sites as needed
Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance and support to RDMEs to promote OMS II-IV student success.
  • Provide direction and updates to RDMEs as it relates to ATSU-SOMA policies, requirements and COCA accreditation standards.
  • Provide bi-directional communication between RDMEs and ATSU-SOMA faculty and leadership relating to all aspects of OMS II - OMS IV curriculum.
  • Provide effective communication and feedback to Assistant Deans, Associate Deans, and Dean relating to all aspects of OMS II - OMS IV curriculum.
  • Meeting Attendance:
    • Will lead the RDME Meetings on a monthly basis and as needed.
    • Attend and provide report at the following meetings:
      • Department Leaders Meeting (Bi-Weekly)
      • Community Partners Conference Call (CPCC) Meeting (monthly)
      • Clerkship Directors Meeting (monthly)
      • Faculty and Staff Meeting (monthly)
      • Clinical Education Department Meeting (monthly)
      • Meeting with the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education (bi-weekly) and as needed
      • Bi-annual meetings with RDMEs in collaboration with Assistant Dean of Clinical Education and as needed
      • Annual AACOM Educating Leaders Conference attendance
Skills/Requirements:
  • DO or MD, residency trained
  • Medical licensure in Arizona or state of residence in addition to a teaching license
  • Allopathic Board
  • 2 to 3 years of related experience (prior RDME experience preferred).
