The Department of English invites applications for a tenure-track
Assistant Professor of Rhetoric and Writing Studies to begin Fall
2023. Preferred areas of expertise include rhetoric, law, and
culture with priority given to applicants with experience in legal
humanities and cultural studies (including African-American,
Latinx, Asian, and Indigenous foci), social justice approaches to
research and teaching, and anti-racist pedagogy. We seek a
colleague who will work with the intellectual interests of our
burgeoning population of international students in the PhD program
and whose research and teaching align with the department's
curricular needs across our graduate programs in rhetoric,
literature, and English education. The successful candidate will
teach RWS courses associated with the Law School Preparation
Institute and UTEP's legal reasoning minor.
