Position Summary

The Psychology Department at Bowdoin College invites applications for a one-year, full-time, visiting assistant professor position in social psychology for the 2023-2024 academic year. The position begins July 1, 2023. A PhD in this area by July 1, 2023 is preferred; ABD considered. We are especially interested in applicants whose research focuses on racism, diversity, or inequality broadly defined. Teaching responsibilities include two courses per semester. Topics for these courses include Introduction to Psychology or Research Methods, a sophomore-level survey course in Social Psychology, a laboratory (research-based) course in social psychology, and an advanced seminar in the candidate’s area of specialization.
