Job Summary:  The Department of Management invites applications for an Assistant Professor position (tenure-track) in Management Information Systems (MIS). Applicants are expected to have an earned doctorate in MIS, Cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline (ABD may be considered if the degree will be earned by August 2023). The position is located on the University of West Georgia’s main campus in Carrollton, GA and will begin in Fall 2023.

The primary teaching responsibility is in the area of Cybersecurity. Strong preference will be given to applicants with teaching and/or research experience in areas of cybersecurity such as incident response, digital forensics, audit, risk management, security policy, privacy, applied cryptography, infrastructural security, authentication, secure software development process, and analytics.

Additional consideration will be given to candidates who have professional experience in cybersecurity and/or industry-recognized certifications such as Security+, CISM, and CISSP.

We are interested in candidates with a commitment to excellence in teaching and student engagement. Individuals will teach face to face, hybrid, and online courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Additional expectations include professional development and scholarly activity, and service to the department, college, and UWG community.

Candidates must have teaching and/or research experience in one of more areas of cybersecurity.

Preferred Qualifications:  Preferred Qualifications Additional consideration will be given to candidates who have professional experience in cybersecurity and/or industry-recognized certifications such as Security+, CISM, and CISSP.  

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:  The primary KSAs associated with this position are: (1) Earned doctorate in MIS, Cybersecurity, or closely related discipline (Note: ABD may be considered as well); (2) Commitment to excellence in teaching and student engagement; (3) Ability to teach face to face, hybrid, and online courses at both the
undergraduate and graduate levels; (4) Professional development and scholarly activity; and (5) Service to
the department, college, and UWG community.
