The School of Information (iSchool) at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for part-time, non-tenure track positions. These lecturers will teach in the iSchool's new undergraduate degree programs, the B.S.I. and B.A. in Informatics, as well as the Master of Science in Information Studies (MSIS) program.

We invite candidates who could teach in one or more of the following areas:
  • Programming (Python)
  • Statistics
  • Human-Centered Data Science: database design, machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, text mining, data engineering, data analytics, network analysis, data visualization, deep learning, machine learning with graph, big data analysis, information retrieval, robotics
  • User-Experience Design: human computer interaction, user-experience research, user interfaces design, interaction design, accessibility, information visualization, information architecture, experimental design and analysis, user-centered agile development, rapid prototyping of interactive systems, product management.
  • Cultural Heritage Informatics: archives, digital archiving, preservation, research data management, digital curation, digital humanities, historical museums.
  • Libraries and Librarianship: information literacy, library instruction, assessment and user research in libraries, management and leadership in information organizations, digital libraries, information organization and access, design and management of information services, collection management
  • Information Policy: copyright, privacy, security, ethics, intellectual freedom
  • Health Informatics: consumer health informatics, AI in health, health information for underserved populations, eHealth, mobile health, electronic health records, patient portals, self-tracking
  • Social Justice Informatics: information and civil rights, information and human rights, serving and working with communities, environmental justice, race and information technology, gender and information technology, information and communication technologies and development, technology for social good
  • Social Informatics: information technology and society, public interest technology, information technology and organizations, future of work, computer-supported cooperative work

Qualifications

Candidates should hold a graduate degree and have at least two years of professional experience in a field relevant to the subject(s) in which they teach.

Candidates who currently or will potentially make outstanding contributions to the diversification of their scholarly fields and/or institutions of higher education are especially encouraged to apply.
