Scope of Job:
As a tenured/tenure-track faculty, the successful applicant will be expected to

1) Conduct an active program of research and demonstrate a strong commitment to scholarly work to advancing the university.2) Secure external funding to support research program and graduate assistantships. 3) Teach primarily in the graduate programs (master's in clinical rehabilitation counseling and doctoral program in rehabilitation counseling). 4) Provide advisement and supervise graduate student research.5) Participate in shared governance and committee activities within the university.6) Engage in community services and professional services, including positions of leadership at the local, state, and national/international levels.

Minimum Qualifications:
Earned doctoral degree or ABD in Rehabilitation Counseling, Rehabilitation Counselor Education, Counselor Education, or closely related field from CACREP accredited programs. For those who are not graduated from the CACREP accredited program, it is expected to have been employed as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for at least a full academic year BEFORE July 1, 2013.

Discipline Specific Required Qualifications:
CRC/LPC or CRC/LPC eligible. The ideal candidate should a) be a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or eligible to become certified and b) licensed or license eligible as either LPC license or equivalent state license within a year.

Preferred Qualification:
· Excellence in scholarly work demonstrated in terms of refereed publications.· Ability to secure external fundings demonstrated in terms of successful grantsmanship.· Graduate level teaching experiences and clinical experience with diverse disability population in the field of rehabilitation counseling.· Excellence in leadership and advocacy relevant to rehabilitation counseling.· Clinical and teaching experience in counseling and counseling skill development.· Excellence in quantitative methodology and statistical analyses used in the field of counseling.· Excellence will be evaluated relative to the ranking the candidate is applying for.

Additional Information:
UTRGV is a distributed institution. As such and as assigned, the position may
require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is
performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security sensitive
and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code
§51.215. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of
Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least
135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement
Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week
and at least 135 days in length.

demonstrate proficiency in English as determined by a satisfactory paper-based
test score of 500 (computer-based of 173 or internet-based of 61) on the Test of
English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or a satisfactory test score of 6.0 on the
