Assistant Professor of Piano
University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music

Job Overview
The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) seeks an experienced performing artist for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Piano beginning on August 15, 2023. The Piano Department, a department within the Keyboard Studies Division, offers the BM, MM, DMA and AD in Piano at CCM, a premiere conservatory for the media and performing arts and a college of the University of Cincinnati.

Essential Functions
Responsibilities include:

  • Applied studio teaching of piano and undergraduate or graduate courses in related subjects including, but not limited to, Piano Literature and Chamber Music. Maintaining national and international performance profiles both on and off campus. Participating in divisional, college and university-wide committees, and other service. Other duties may include, but are not limited to: Advising doctoral students on documents, projects, and lecture recitals. Teaching master classes. Serving the college/university/community through such activities as committee membership, academic advising, and mentoring students. 

Minimum Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: Prior to the effective date of the appointment, the successful candidate must have either:

  1. A Master’s Degree in Music in addition to two years of professional performance experience.
           OR
  2. A Bachelor’s Degree in Music in addition to a total of seven years of experience. Such experience must encompass five years of progressive post-baccalaureate work experience in piano (publishing scholarly or pedagogical works, recording projects, or touring) as well as two years of professional performance experience.
