Position Summary

The ITC-Learning Space Support incumbent will work in collaboration with the AVP for Academic Technology & Campus Engagement and provide day to day assistance to the Learning Space Services Lead in the campus standard lecture capture related tasks. The incumbent will communicate effectively to coordinate efforts across multiple departments, including internal IRT departments and external departments, such as Facilities Services. This position requires a broad set of instructional systems engineering and control systems software programming technical skills and the ability to apply judgement based on these skills to develop solutions. This position operates as a member of the IRT Learning Space Services support team and will work collaboratively with members of that team in solving problems and issues.

FLSA: EXEMPT

CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,372 - $10,792 per month

Hiring Range: $4,372 - $5,300 per month

Salary Grade/Range: 2

Recruitment Type: Temporary

Time Base: Full-Time

Pay Plan: 12 months

Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm; other hours as required.

Minimum Qualifications

To enter this classification, a basic foundation of knowledge and skills in technical information systems and application program packages is a prerequisite. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study. Foundation knowledge and skills for the Information Technology Consultant, depending on the nature of the position assignment, may include working knowledge of common software application packages, equipment platforms, reference database systems and sources, and training methods and a basic understanding of networks, data communication, and multimedia systems.

Required Qualifications
1. A bachelor's degree or at least two years of certified coursework in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar applicable fields of study. 2. Demonstrated ability to function at the Information Technology Consultant-Career skill level, including ability to independently apply technical judgment to both standard and non-standard data applications and systems, solve a wide range of problems, develop practicable and thorough solutions, and use effective communication and listening skills. 3. Demonstrated knowledge and skill supporting instructional software, hardware, and systems related to content delivery. 4. Demonstrated knowledge and skill supporting lecture capture systems and a working knowledge of control system integration with the lecture capture systems.
Preferred Qualifications
5. Two years classroom customer service experience and consulting experience, preferably within higher education. 6. Ability to describe technical issues in non-technical terms 7. Demonstrated experience with procurement processing and inventory control systems. 8. Instructional system design knowledge along with current Extron certification at least Level 1. 9. Demonstrated technical troubleshooting experience and familiarity with equipment designs and applications similar to current designs and applications used in the university learning spaces. 10. Demonstrated experience and understanding of signal flow and electronics. 11. Familiarity with instructional system schematics. 12. Familiarity with emerging hardware technologies for classrooms (to meet new teaching modalities) including wireless display technologies, Apple TV, tablet support. 13. Familiarity with current and emerging instructional systems protocols (HDCP, HDMI, DVI, etc.) along with computer programming skills preferred such as Java Script, CSS, XHTML, PHP skills, SQL skills. 14. Familiarity with Extron Global Configurator 3, Extron Global Configurator Plus, Extron GUI Designer. 15. Demonstrated ability to mock-up and assemble prototypes for emerging Learning Space Services designs. 16. Demonstrated ability to follow IT security requirements and best practices.
