Scope of Job:
The successful candidate will participate in curriculum development and quality online course design and instruction to improve student learning and student engagement. The faculty member is expected to participate in student recruitment activities, be actively involved in professional organizations and committee work as well as other service activities. UTRGV faculty will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to student success and to advancing the university, college, and program missions, as well as a commitment to UTRGV's strategic plan, vision, mission, values and core priorities. Minimum Qualifications:
MS degree in a health profession, healthcare administration, public health or other healthcare-related field or MS degree in a related field, bachelor’s degree in a health profession, healthcare administration, public health or other healthcare-related field and 3 years work experience in a health profession. Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Discipline Specific Required Qualifications:


Preferred Qualification:
Online teaching experience, especially in the Blackboard LMS and Quality Matters Applying the Quality Matters Rubric certificate is preferred. Doctoral degree in a health profession, healthcare administration/leadership or health science and work experience in the field of study and/or scholarly record in the teaching discipline. Demonstrated scholarly productivity, active participation in professional organizations, evidence of contribution to curriculum development, evidence of participation in outreach and recruitment activities are highly valued. Healthcare industry work experience in a health profession/healthcare field is preferred. 2 years teaching at the college/university level preferred.

Additional Information:
UTRGV is a distributed institution. As such and as assigned, the position may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days inlength.
