Job Description

The College of Arts & Sciences at Syracuse University seeks a Part-time Instructor to teach FSC 456/656 – Mobile Forensics & Social Networking in Spring 2023.
Course Description: Examines the use of digital forensic techniques to safely secure, extract and analyze digital evidence from mobile devices and social networks for use in criminal investigations. Additional work required of graduate students.

Qualifications

Knowledge of digital forensic techniques and social networks
Preference will be given to qualified and practicing or retired forensic scientist.
Experience with both the practical and theoretical aspects of various areas of forensic science.
Experience presenting lectures and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Developing and/or updating a class syllabus.
• Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date.
• Preparing lectures, projects or other student assignments.
• Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours of two hours per week.
• Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the class.
• Meeting all designated class periods. If you are unable to meet with your class due to illness or emergency, you should exercise your best effort to reschedule the class or to obtain a substitute. You must also notify the department chair or their designated contact of your absence and of your plan to cover the class.
• Working with the academic unit to maintain student learning outcomes. Submitting completed final grades according to University regulations. Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
• Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations. Completing all other course-related duties as outlined by your department’s policies for part-time instructors.
