New York University’s Department of History seeks to hire a scholar in the field of U.S. and the World from 1848 to the present at the assistant professor level. The department is particularly interested in scholars focused upon East Asia, Southeast Asia, or Latin America, with an interest in subjects including, but not limited to, global health, global indigeneity, environment, and the roles of race, gender and sexuality in shaping U. S. global power. The appointment will begin September 1, 2023, pending budgetary and administrative approval.
