Job Summary

The Special Assistant to the Senior VP for Finance, Administrative Services & Operations provides special assistance to the Senior VP, managing or overseeing various special assignments as directed. He/she acts as surrogate and counselor to the Senior VP for Finance, Administrative Services and Operations.

Essential Job Functions

• Represents the Senior VP for Finance, Administrative Services & Operations/ CFO, as assigned
• Designs and implements programs that help carry out the Senior VP’s duties and responsibilities
• Evaluates projects, including gathering data, analyzing it, and making determinations as to success and efficiency
• Conducts research statistical, historical or and/or administrative), synthesizes it and presents to the Senior VP
• Identifies inefficiencies in organizational operations and suggests corrections, including logistical inefficiencies or misdirection of priorities
• Serves as all-purpose trouble shooter, correcting errors and resolving conflicts to facilitate the Senior VP’s ability to accomplish tasks without interruption
• Coordinate functions as assigned in inter-departmental activities
• Assist in planning, developing, implementing and managing key business issues and protocols
• Perform special assistance duties in creating and establishing annual business goals and objectives for the Division of Finance, Administrative Services and Operations
• Serves as team lead on projects, as assigned by the Senior VP

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, management, engineering or comparable discipline
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Five years progressively responsible financial and administrative senior management experience, preferably in higher education
