  • Maintain effective communication with academic and administrative departments, particularly the Office of the Dean of the Faculty and Finance, as well as with special faculty committees and working groups, and non-departmental centers of faculty scholarship and research.
  • Ensure institutional approval prior to proposal submission.
  • Research funding opportunities, draft proposals, budgets, letters of inquiry, and acknowledgement letters for corporate and foundation grants in collaboration with the Senior Director.
  • Develop and maintain current knowledge of college programs, strengths, and strategic priorities.
  • Participate in professional development and networking opportunities to stay up to date on best practices in sponsored research and grant administration.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and based on departmental need.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of experience in higher education, grant writing and administration, program design and evaluation, or a comparable area required; 3-5 years of experience is preferred.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on a team.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and/or deadlines.
  • Highly organized and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and ability to successfully use electronic grant portals and/or online databases.
  • Highly motivated to learn and grow professionally, individually, and as a member of the Grants Office.

Company

Trinity College

Intellectually impressive. Fiercely determined. Unquestionably accomplished.

Since its foundation in 1823, Trinity College, located in the heart of Hartford, Connecticut, has been educating students in the liberal arts with the educational and experiential foundations they need to succeed as informed global citizens. Trinity is a member of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) and the Consortium On Financing Higher Education (COFHE). Faculty and alumni include recipients of the Pulitzer Prize, the MacArthur award, Guggenheims, Rockefellers, and other national academic awards.

While Trinity has enjoyed a long, prestigious history, the college finds itself poised in transition as the landscape of higher education across the country undergoes a fundamental shift. Under the leadership of Joanne Berger-Sweeney, who was inaugurated on October 26, 2014 as Trinity’s 22nd President, Trinity is looking forward to a bold future that will require innovation borne out of long-term strategic planning that will make the college even more visible and competitive. Among the strategic plan’s broad goals is to design a distinctive, relevant liberal arts education that positions Trinity increasingly as a first-choice destination for students, faculty, and staff.
