VICE PRESIDENT FOR COMMUNICATIONS
AND MARKETING

Muhlenberg College seeks a seasoned, enterprising, and strategic executive to serve as the Vice President for Communications and Marketing. The Vice President serves as the College's chief communication and marketing officer and will oversee internal and external communications strategy, branding, creative, digital, media relations, and crisis management. Muhlenberg is an independent liberal arts, residential institution located in Allentown, Pennsylvania, about fifty-five miles north of Philadelphia. The Vice President will be an instrumental advisor and direct report to President Kathleen Harring; a critical partner with campus leadership in advancing institutional goals; and a key member of the senior leadership team. There is a strong preference for the Vice President to take office in early Spring 2023, or soon thereafter.

Muhlenberg enrolls approximately 2,000 undergraduate students and has close to 180 full-time faculty. The institution offers rigorous academic programs in the arts, humanities, natural sciences and social sciences, as well as select pre-professional programs in law and health, and progressive workforce-focused post-baccalaureate certificates and master's degrees.

The Office of Communications with approximately 12 staff, is responsible for social media, production of the Alumni Magazine, print design and website content, along with a range of additional responsibilities. The Vice President will work in partnership with the President, communications staff, other Vice Presidents, the Deans, and communications specialists across the various academic and administrative units to coordinate a unified communications and marketing strategy. Importantly, the Vice President will serve as a strategic partner, using sophisticated communications and marketing strategies and tactics to advance the College's reputation, recruiting and revenue priorities.
