Responsibilities:
  The Mike Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business at Belmont University is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 1, 2023.

Job responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses specifically oriented toward streaming, digital marketing, digital assets, strategies, and social media, or touring, concert promotion, booking, and ticketing. Comprehensive knowledge of the music industry is required, and knowledge of international markets is a plus. Courses taught may include Data Analytics, Digital Music Marketing, Entrepreneurship in the Music Industry, Marketing in the Music Industry, Record Company Operations, Social Media in Artist Management, or Concert Promotion and Booking.  The ideal candidate would develop new courses and improve existing courses that recognize the changing landscape of the music business and how the industry can rapidly adapt to technological advancements.  Additional responsibilities include academic advising, student mentoring, scholarly activity, and college and university service.  J.D., Ph.D., Ed.D. or Doctorate of Business Administration is preferred.  Master’s degree or progress toward a terminal degree is required.  Teaching experience is strongly preferred.  As all Belmont undergraduates complete an innovative general education program with significant interdisciplinary components, Belmont University is particularly seeking applicants who can demonstrate the interest and ability to work collaboratively in course design and to teach interdisciplinary and topical courses in this program.  For additional information about the position and to complete the online application, candidates are directed to https://jobs.belmont.edu. Primary Job Functions:

(I)         Teach 24 credit hours per year.
(ii)        Advise and mentor students.
(iii)       Engage in activities to support the mission and vision of Belmont University and the Music Business Department.
(iv)       Engage in scholarly activity, research and professional development.
(v)       Engage in college, university and community service.
(v)       Participate in departmental, college and university committee work as deemed appropriate.

  Knowledge of principles, methods and current developments in the
field of study. Knowledge of subject matter and course content taught. Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques. Demonstrated capacity to engage in high quality scholarly
activity. Demonstrated ability to advise, instruct, manage, motivate and evaluate students. Skilled in the use of computers, Internet resources, and MS Office software. Ability to learn relevant sections of BannerWeb, Belmont University’s online integrated database system for student grading. Ability to integrate technology into the teaching and learning process. Ability to successfully interact with students, other educators and educational institution representatives, and the general public in a professional manner. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Knowledge of the programs and services offered by Belmont University. Interest and ability to work collaboratively in course design and to teach interdisciplinary and topical courses. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.    

Required Education Masters degree required. Doctorate or progress toward a terminal degree is preferred Experience

Required Experience 3 years minimum music industry experience. Teaching experience strongly preferred
