Tenure-track position in Exercise Science with expertise in Exercise Science and Athletic Training. Our program is committed to preparing practitioners in Exercise Science and Athletic Training, as well as preparing students for graduate studies in Exercise Science/Kinesiology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and other health-related fields. The appointment includes research, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Exercise Science, and curriculum development. Faculty members are expected to be active scholars, advise students, and participate in department, college,
and university committees and activities. The successful candidate’s major responsibility will be to teach Biomechanics within the graduate and undergraduate exercise science program. Candidates who are not biomechanists but can teach in other areas in the exercise sciences are encouraged to apply. Preferred candidates will also teach courses in the MS in Athletic Training.

The Department of Exercise Science and Physical Education offers academic programs at both the graduate and undergraduate levels in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Health and Physical Education Teacher certification, and Sports Administration, serving approximately 750 undergraduate and 80 graduate majors. Housed in University Hall, the department has well-equipped and state-of-the-art research laboratories that provide ample opportunity for hands-on experience and individual research. Faculty research areas include visual control of action, game intelligence in sports, injury prevention and human movement and the forces involved in the motion, and development of skilled performance in sports medicine.

Earned doctorate in Exercise Science, Athletic Training, or related field, a well-defined research agenda, and evidence of scholarly activities. BOC certification and eligible for NJ Athletic Training Licensure. Demonstration of the potential to secure external funds and evidence of the ability to integrate computer technology into instruction highly are desirable. SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with experience
