Position Description:

The Department of Educational Services and Leadership is one of four departments within the College of Education. The department of Educational Services and Leadership houses graduate programs in educational leadership, school administration, school psychology, counseling in educational settings, higher education, and a post-baccalaureate program in school nursing.

The Department of Educational Services and Leadership is accepting applications for a full-time assistant/associate tenure track professor position for the Master of Arts in School Administration program beginning Fall 2023, contingent upon budget appropriation. The department is seeking a creative and innovative faculty member to play an integral role in the Master’s level program in school administration. Educators who bring diverse perspectives to the university or who have capacity to mentor and advise students who are members of groups that have been historically and are currently marginalized in the U.S. and in U.S. schools are encouraged to apply. The position will carry a rank commensurate (Assistant or Associate Professor) with the candidate’s prior experience and record.

Qualifications:

This position requires practitioner leadership experience and a rich knowledge base in school administration-related fields, along with demonstrated scholarly excellence and accomplishment. The department is looking for a faculty member, who is dedicated to increasing knowledge, sensitivity, and awareness of practices best suited for individuals from diverse sociocultural backgrounds. The successful candidate meets the following qualifications:

Required Qualifications
  • An earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) from an accredited institution with a major in School Administration or Educational Leadership
  • Record of scholarship commensurate with rank
  • Ability to teach a variety of courses in the School Administration curriculum
  • Knowledge of relevant accreditation standards, such as NELP and PSEL
  • Demonstrated record of excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Superintendent and/or Principal Certification
  • Administrative experience in multiple K-12 public school districts
  • Record of excellence in teaching at the graduate level
  • Experience in developing and delivering educational programs on-line
  • Record of professional activities with an ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external relationships in dynamic and collaborative environments, including working with P-12 schools
