Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure Operations, the Data Center Operations and DR Lead is responsible for the efficient management of the College's data centers, and the building and maintenance of the College's disaster recovery strategy, policies, and procedures. This position will manage the support of new technologies, data center performance and reliability and service level agreements and ensure the high availability and efficient running of systems and applications for the necessary functions of the College in the Data Center. They will also coordinate with different vendors and other IT departments for scheduled maintenance events, disaster recovery testing, tabletop exercises, and execution.

Major Areas of Responsibility
  • Provide overall data center support, ensuring a productive, efficient, and well documented data center.
  • Supervise data center security and integrity; monitor HVAC and manage data center space planning.
  • Assume management responsibility for Business Contingency planning efforts with a major focus on assuring the adequacy of business unit contingency plans for critical business areas, functions and applications. To maintain continued operations, asset protection, and loss mitigation in the event of a disruption, coordinating activities of technology resources with the company's business units and development groups, as required.
  • Working with stakeholders, create and maintain a robust IT disaster recovery plan that is routinely tested. Perform periodic reviews and tests of established Business Continuity Plans and procedures, reporting findings to management and making recommendations for improvements as needed.
  • Incorporate cloud into the DR strategy, while also considering DR implications of widespread cloud implementations.
  • Work with the Change Advisory Board for approvals and scheduling projects, maintenance and various events.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time, exempt level position. The College is committed to providing competitive market pay for its employees. The annual salary for this position ranges from $85,000 - $95,000 and is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
