Colorado State University invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor position in public relations and strategic communication. The successful candidate will carry a 2/2 teaching load, including undergraduate courses in public relations and other media communication courses appropriate to the candidate’s background, and graduate courses on topics such as strategic communication, crisis communication, and quantitative research methods. Must have demonstrated research with impact potential related to the area(s) of public relations and/or strategic communication.

Required qualifications include a completed Ph.D. or advanced ABD status by August 2023, a demonstrated research program in public relations and strategic communication, at least one year of full-time professional experience in public relations, demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, and ability to advise M.S. and Ph.D. students. Reflecting departmental and institutional values, candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to advance the department’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice (DEISJ) in line with the university’s Principles of Community.


Application materials include a letter of application with a statement of research focus, a curriculum vita, publications, or conference papers demonstrating scholarly engagement (3 maximum), a statement of teaching philosophy, evidence of teaching effectiveness, a diversity statement describing efforts to incorporate DEISJinto teaching and mentoring and a list of three references.
