Position Summary
The Department of Communication Sciences and Special Education ( CSSE ) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor with expertise in speech-language pathology. An advanced Assistant Professor eligible for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor would also be considered. Strong applicants with other areas of expertise in the field of speech-language pathology will be considered. This is an academic year (9 month) full-time tenure-track position to begin August 1, 2023.

About the College/Unit/Department
As the 4th largest public college of education in the country and the 3rd largest college at UGA, the Mary Frances Early College of Education ( MFECOE ) improves the lives of residents of Georgia and beyond through our instruction, research, and service. The MFE COE is a comprehensive college with disciplines focused on teacher preparation, counseling and human development, communication sciences, human movement sciences, career development, student affairs, and educational administration and policy. We place significant emphasis on graduate education with approximately 40% of our students at the graduate level, making us the second largest college at UGA with respect to graduate education.

An earned doctorate (Ph.D. or equivalent) in speech-language pathology or closely related field (or degree to be awarded before the position’s start date).

- A record of obtaining external funding to support research programs, or demonstrable potential.

- Develop and sustain a line of research that contributes to scientific advancement in an area related to speech, language, and/or swallowing disorders.
- Actively pursue external funding for research.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses (face-to-face, online, and/or blended).
- Advise students and direct thesis and dissertation research.
- Engage in departmental, college, university, and professional service.
