Data Specialist

Job Summary

Assist the Senior Director of Enterprise Applications with the administration, management, and reporting responsibilities for enterprise applications. Primary applications include but are not limited to Ellucian Colleague, Etrieve by SoftDocs, TimeClockPlus, EMS Event Management Software, Technolutions Slate iData Integration Tools, and Blackbaud Raisers Edge NXT .

Essential Functions

• Works with various campus offices to verify the accuracy and integrity of their data.
• Develops strategies to correct data issues and implements these solutions in collaboration with other areas as needed.
• Develops and modifies reports, dashboards and data warehouses for campus constituents as needed.
• Performs account creation and maintenance for enterprise applications.
• Provides training and support to end users.
• Functions as a backup database administrator, capable of performing daily system administration tasks when the Senior Director of Enterprise Applications is out of the office.
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
• Supports the University’s mission, vision and values.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration or equivalent.
• Two years of experience with various enterprise applications.
• Two years of experience with database administration.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills with proven attention to detail.
• Methodical problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to a team approach.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Microsoft and Linux operating systems.
• Previous experience working in higher education.
• Ellucian Colleague, Technolutions Slate, iData Integration Tools, Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT, eTrieve by Softdocs, or Entrinsik Informer experience preferred.
• Experience with MS- SQL or Unidata databases.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object.
