Job Description:

This Quality Assurance Analyst, serves in an entry level role within the Applications, Development, and Integrations (ADI) unit of University of Florida Information Technology (UFIT), and will support the university’s success through service and operational excellence.

This role is responsible for participating in planning and implementing a framework to ensure error-free IT systems (i.e., hardware, software, and data). This position is also accountable to design, create and build test cases, test plans and test strategies for multiple software platforms along with automation test scripts for all applications and convert manual test preparation into automated test preparation.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:
  • Facilitate functional, regression, user experience, unit, and load testing for all new features in cross browser environments including mobile devices. Leverage appropriate application lifecycle management tools consistently, and within department policy and procedure.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in application lifecycle management and testing tools and utilities including but not limited to: Micro Focus Quality Center/ALM, Unified Functional Testing (UFT), LoadRunner, JMeter, Selenium WebDriver, Jira, GitLab, and Confluence. Work with colleagues to maintain tools as appropriate.
  • Maintain project documentation in appropriate repositories including requirements, testing strategy, test plans, defects, etc. Contribute to team and department knowledge, policy, process and procedure documentation.

Benefits

Full-time TEAMS employees will accrue vacation leave at a rate of 6.769 hours biweekly/22 days annually and sick leave at a rate of 4 hours biweekly/13 days annually. In addition, employees are eligible for ten paid holidays each year.

Vacation accruing TEAMS employees are eligible for four personal leave days/32 hours per year, assuming full-time status, and are intended to give the flexibility to enable units to close from December 26 to 31 when possible, determined on a unit-by-unit basis.

Expected Salary:

$52,500 – $55,000; commensurate based on education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Associate's degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and skills:
  • Three (3) years of IT experience in an environment similar to the size and complexity of the UF
    One (1) year of experience as testing analyst for application or software projects.
  • Experience with software development life cycle, manual and automated application testing, project defect tracking and remediation.
  • Awareness of the following or similar tools: Micro Focus Quality Center/ALM, Unified Functional Testing (UFT), LoadRunner, JMeter, Selenium WebDriver, Jira, GitLab, or Confluence.
  • Awareness of continuous integration/continuous delivery methods and tools.
Some experience with JavaScript, SQL, and other scripting languages

This role will be based in one of our Gainesville offices and may include a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office (Wednesday required), and 2 days remote.
