Assistant Professor of Allied Health

The Department of Health Sciences and Human Performance within the College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa invites applications for a full-time tenure track position in Allied Health at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in August 2023.

Responsibilities will include a teaching load of 12 credit/contact hours per semester.

The candidate is expected to engage in scholarly activity, advise/mentor students, and participate in service to the department, college, university, and broader community. 

Qualifications
Applicants must have an earned Doctorate in a Health Sciences and Human Performance-related discipline by August 2023.

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience or strong promise in teaching a range of courses in allied health and the health sciences. Courses may include, but are not limited to, personal and family health, nutrition, introduction to allied health, applied kinesiology, biostatistics, epidemiology, and a senior capstone course for allied health majors.

Candidates are expected to have an interest in, and the ability to, teach courses at the introductory and upper division levels. A demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence in lower and upper division undergraduate courses is required. The ideal candidate also will have experience or strong promise in advising students both during their undergraduate academic career as well as those who will pursue graduate degrees in allied health and the health sciences.

The candidate is expected to demonstrate evidence of scholarly activity and a future research agenda.
