Our department is made up of an innovative group of scholars who are dedicated to producing top-flight research while training our students in the latest techniques in economic analysis. Our department offers BA, BS, and PhD degrees in Economics, and MA degrees in Applied Economics with about 700 undergraduate majors. We welcome candidates whose experience in research and teaching has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to excellence and diversity. The primary responsibilities for each Instructional Assistant Professor will be in teaching. The teaching load will be 6 sections per academic year, divided between the Fall and Spring semesters. The courses will be at the undergraduate and master’s levels. Experience in and enthusiasm for teaching courses with strong writing, research, or quantitative analysis components are preferred. Candidates interested in teaching time series analysis, labor economics, and financial economics are especially encouraged to apply.
In addition to the teaching responsibilities, each Instructional Assistant Professor is expected to assist with one of the following department's undergraduate activities: career and internship counseling services, Micro Principles online section management, Macro Principles online section management, and aiding the Undergraduate Director with organizing the degree programs. We anticipate that responsibilities may change as the needs of the undergraduate degree programs may evolve.
