Position Information
Position Title Senior Office Assistant Overview
Provide administrative support to the Office of Admission. Essential Duties:
- Answer phones, greet and direct visitors to appropriate areas or persons.
- Provide coverage of the Office of Admission reception area when required.
- Perform basic and intermediate computer functions including managing databases, creating, analyzing, and integrating spreadsheets, creating mail and envelope merges, and the ability to import graphics and other information into a document.
- Prepare and maintain records, files and databases, some of which may be confidential.
- Reorder and track general office supplies when necessary.
- Sort, open, and distribute individual or departmental incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail. Assist in supervision of student workers when necessary.
- Perform all other duties as may be required.
- High School education or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of technical school education and experience.
- Working knowledge of word processing and database systems required.
- Excellent organizational and communications skills also required.
- Ability to work under deadline pressure and to prioritize assignments while juggling multiple tasks.
