Department Summary

The Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact (Knight Campus) is a billion-dollar initiative designed to fast-track scientific discoveries and the process of turning those discoveries into innovations that improve the quality of life for people in Oregon, the nation and beyond. The Knight Campus will reshape the higher education landscape in Oregon by training the next generations of scientists, forging tighter ties with industry and entrepreneurs and creating new educational opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students.
Position Summary

The Knight Campus is seeking qualified applicants for its open research pool. Positions are funding contingent research appointments. The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds.

We are seeking applicants in scientific disciplines including bioengineering, neuroengineering, engineering, human physiology, applied chemistry, applied physics, and biology or closely related fields.

Open positions will include research assistants (commonly known as technicians), research associates, and research engineers. Research assistants conduct research under direction of a Principal Investigator; research associates and research engineers conduct research with only general guidance.
Minimum Requirements

  • Research Assistant - a Bachelor's or Master's degree in bioengineering, biochemistry, biology, biophysics, human physiology, physics, chemistry, chemical engineering or related disciplines

  • Research Associate and Research Engineer - a terminal degree by the start of the position with relevant professional experience in a research lab
