Kent State University seeks an experienced, collaborative and strategic leader to serve as its next Executive Director, DeWeese Health Center. The Executive Director will imagine, build, and execute an ambitious vision for health services at Kent State University.

A leading public research university, Kent State offers more than 360 undergraduate and graduate programs of study and enrolls more than 38,000 students on its eight campuses. The University embraces its vision to be a community of change agents whose collective commitment to learning sparks epic thinking, meaningful voice, and invaluable outcomes to better our society. The 950 acre Kent campus is situated in northeast Ohio, amid rolling terrain dotted by spring-fed lakes, but also within only a short drive from four major urban centers including the cities of Akron and Cleveland.

Reporting to Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, Cesquinn Curtis, the Executive Director functions as the chief executive officer with overall responsibilities and authority for the operation of University Health Services and the DeWeese Health Center and a $4.7 million total annual budget. The new leader will serve on the Vice President for Student Affairs leadership team, manage a team of approximately 40 staff members and will oversee a plan to improve and optimize university health services while expanding revenue and efficiencies.

In this role, the executive director will:

• Provide strategic leadership to determine healthcare priorities, patient care and services, and quality improvement initiatives; determine healthcare protocols for Kent State students, faculty and staff; develop high-quality, responsive and efficient healthcare delivery programs in collaboration with other campus and community groups; lead UHS in the areas of risk management, emergency preparedness, budget planning and human resources.
• Oversee the operation of the facility, infrastructure and equipment in collaboration with the Office of the University Architect (OUA) and other relevant departments.
• Ensure maintenance of accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Develop, implement, and administer policies and procedures to comply with the AAAHC accreditation standards.
• Oversee UHS' budget, including revenue cycle management, insurance billing, and central support; manage DeWeese Health Center, the facility which houses UHS; negotiate contracts and purchase agreements, consistent with university policies, procedures and regulations.
• Research, evaluate, and implement appropriate revenue initiatives to support the operating budget of the unit, consistent with university policies, procedures and regulations.
• Provide leadership to public health preparedness and response activities, in collaboration with university departments and community agencies.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of four years of progressive responsibility in administrative and/or business operations in an ambulatory primary care setting. A master's degree in public health, healthcare administration, higher education administration or a related field is required.
