Visiting Instructor of Health Administration

Position Summary

A visiting instructor teaches four courses and fulfills other program duties as needed.  This position will teach courses in the Department of Health and Human Performance. This is a two-year appointment

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Heathcare Administration or related field.   
  • Experience working in the field of Health Administration 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Terminal degree (PhD or Doctorate) in Healthcare Administration or related field 
  • ABD applicants will be considered if dissertation will be completed by July 1, 2023.  
  • Flexible communicator, who connects with audiences through writing and presenting  
  • Interpersonal skills, I.e. with students, colleagues, and others Fort Lewis College community members 
  • Experience with culturally-responsive teaching practices  
Major Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in Health Administration as assigned by the Department Chair.  This could include course design, planning and delivering class sessions, and assessing student learning. 
  • Maintain a regular schedule of office hours for students 
  • Collaborate with other faculty in planning, implementing, and evaluating health administration courses 
  • Collaborate with faculty and administration in developing the health administration program  
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities. 
  • Instructors who are assigned courses in a distance format (hybrid, online, HyFlex) must have either 1) had formal professional development in online curricular design and instruction, or 2) must complete FLC’s institutional training within the first term of teaching in a distance format.
  • Maintains knowledge and awareness of digital accessibility including the American with Disabilities Act and Section 508. 
  • Produces and remediates digitally accessible materials in accordance with FLC standards. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic). 
  • Ability to work in a confined area. 
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. 


Compensation

The salary range is $45,000 to $50,000 (Depending on if the candidate has a terminal degree or not). plus a comprehensive benefits package .
