A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Health Sciences (ATSU-ASHS) invites applications for a Clinical Coordinator II at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank on the Mesa, Arizona campus. The Clinical Coordinator II will report directly to the Physician Assistant Studies Program Director of Clinical Education and is responsible for supporting the recruitment and maintenance of a sufficient number of quality clinical sites to meet the ARC-PA standards and program requirements.

Job Duties
  • Conduct regular on-site visits of supervised clinical practice experience (SCPE) sites to evaluate student performance, ensure site adequacy, and foster professional relationships
  • Assist in the direction, development, implementation and evaluation of the clinical curriculum
  • Provide guidance and direction to program staff and faculty involved in second-year curriculum
  • Network with appropriate offices and departments involved in medical and allied health education and with external agencies useful or in support of the clinical education of students
  • Develop SCPEs that meet ARC-PA standards
  • Establish and evaluate clinical learning objectives and assessments
  • Recruit, train, and orient clinical preceptors
  • Create and disseminate educational materials and resources for preceptors
  • Educate, evaluate, and counsel students on academic and professionalism issues
  • Collaborate in the preparation and analysis of reports and evaluations as assigned
  • Monitor student progress to ensure compliance with program expectations and accreditation requirements
  • Participate in scholarly activities
  • Participate in service-oriented activities that contribute to the mission of the university and foster professional collaboration
  • Assist, guide and evaluate student Master’s Capstone projects required for graduation
  • Serve on University, School and Department committees as directed by the ASHS Dean and PA Department Chair
  • Participate in and assist with departmental events and functions including but not limited to: admissions interviews, graduation, white coat ceremony, and awards banquets
  • Other duties as assigned by Clinical Director and Program Director.
Skills/Requirements
  • Master's degree required. Doctoral degree preferred.
  • At least two years of healthcare experience.
  • At least one year of educational experience in a faculty leadership role preferred.
  • Knowledge of PA practice competencies.
  • Strong ability to develop and deliver medical course instruction.
  • Possesses an aptitude and enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring physician assistant students.
  • Has an understanding of the role and scope of practice of a physician assistant.
  • Can work flexibly within a cohesive team environment.
  • Is able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Is a self-starter with demonstrated organizational and leadership skills, adept at attention to detail and time management with excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
