The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle is seeking a full-time faculty member at the Assistant Professor, without tenure due to funding (WOT) level. This individual would attend gynecologic oncology inpatients and outpatients, perform major and minor surgeries, teach medical students, residents, and fellows, and participate in the educational mission of the department including the administration of the residency and fellowship program, surgical teaching through simulation and labs, division journal club, and didactics. This position will be required to work in a team-based setting and support the department's commitment to education, leadership, and research consistent with the academic mission of the University of Washington. In addition, there are ample opportunities for leadership and advancement within the department and institution including leadership opportunities in the residency and fellowship programs. 

Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This position has an anticipated start date of January 1, 2023. We offer a competitive salary with excellent benefits. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Candidates will be expected to provide medical services at the University of Washington affiliated hospitals, train residents and medical students, and make academic contributions to the field.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and must have completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology. A foreign equivalent is acceptable. In addition, candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Gynecologic Oncology. Candidates must have excellent clinical and robotic skills.

Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to, fluency in Spanish or another non-English language.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
