Southern Methodist University is accepting applications for faculty positions beginning Fall 2023

in the following schools:

SMU is seeking a number of faculty at all ranks to join our DATA SCIENCE CLUSTER to contribute to our research excellence in the areas of Technology-Enhanced Immersive Learning (TEIL), Health Analytics, and the Data Core. SMU is home to one of the fastest and most powerful academic supercomputers in the nation (ManeFrame III), which handles large volumes of sensing data as well as the ability to implement advanced algorithms for time-series analysis, data mining, and machine learning. Maneframe III has recently been upgraded to include an NVIDIA DGX SuperPod with a theoretical performance of 100 PFLOPS for AI calculations, which positions SMU as one of only two universities in the U.S. to have a DGX SuperPod. The Data Science Cluster will offer unique collaborative opportunities for faculty as SMU launches a new PhD in Data Science and expands research support within the Data Science Institute.

Professor and Department Chair of Applied Physiology and Sports Management –Tenured (Position #6313)

Education: Earned doctorate and/or post-doctoral training in a field aligned with Health Analytics (i.e., physiology, genomics, epidemiology, public health, kinesiology, or biomedical informatics Priority Review begins November 15, 2022* http://apply.interfolio.com/114180 Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with a program of research in a substantive area of health or sports health science that also contributes to the Health Analytics area of the Data Science cluster.
