The University of Colorado Denver/Anschutz Medical Campus, a dynamic research and medical university, seeks an experienced, innovative and collaborative leader to serve as its next Assistant Vice Chancellor for Financial Aid and Scholarships (AVC).

Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment and Academic Services, the new AVC will be responsible for financial aid and scholarship leadership for all undergraduate, graduate, and professional students at CU Denver and the CU Anschutz Medical Campus. The AVC will lead a team of 25 professionals charged with administering a financial aid program consisting of federal, state and institutional funds that exceed $280 million annually.

The Assistant Vice Chancellor for Financial Aid and Scholarships provides critical leadership, guidance, facilitation, coordination, oversight and evaluation of University strategic and optimized financial aid delivery. This position plays an integral part in ensuring the integrity and compliance of Title IV financial aid delivery for all students at both the Denver and Anschutz campuses. A member of the Division of Strategic Enrollment and Student Success Management Leadership Team, this new leader identifies, builds and nurtures relationships with all levels within the university and with on and off campus colleagues to meet and exceed performance expectations. The successful candidate for this role will have extensive, diverse and progressively responsible administrative experience in higher education including significant work in financial aid and scholarships. A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced graduate degree in higher education, business, public administration or a closely related field is preferred.

Nestled in the center of one of America's most vibrant and fastest growing cities, the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) is Colorado's only public urban research university. In its recently-released 2023 rankings, US News & World Report has recognized CU Denver as #1 for mobility in the state of Colorado for the second year running, and consistently ranks it as one of the nation's best schools. CU Denver educates a diverse student body through quality academics, ambitious research, creative work, and civic engagement in the city it calls home. The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is a public education, clinical and research facility serving 4,500 students, and a world-class medical destination at the forefront of life-changing science, medicine, and healthcare. CU Anschutz offers more than 42 highly rated degree programs through 6 schools and colleges, and receives over $500 million in research awards each year. It is the single largest health professions education provider in Colorado, awarding nearly 1,450 degrees annually.

In 2004, the Denver and Anschutz campuses were consolidated to realize enhanced mission outcomes with greater academic, administrative and operational efficiencies. The two campuses remain a single academic entity, accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, and are an integral part of the four-campus University of Colorado system. CU Denver has a diverse student body of nearly 10,000 undergraduate and over 4,500 graduate students. The next Assistant Vice Chancellor for Financial Aid and Scholarships will play a crucial role in supporting these students through the prudent and equity-minded disbursement of state, federal, and institutional financial aid funds.
