LSC-Westway Park Technology Center, a satellite center of
LSC-CyFair, is located between Clay and Tanner roads off the Sam
Houston Tollway. This center will focus on LSC-CyFair’s Visual
Communication and Information Technology workforce training
programs with certificates and degrees in areas such as Cisco and
Microsoft Networking, Cyber Security, Computer Forensics, Graphic
and Web Design, and 3D animation.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Under direct supervision, the Staff Assistant I performs standard
administrative duties. Generally reports to a Manager-level
position and provides support to multiple individuals or a
department. Activities are routine and may be repetitive. Basic
duties may include receiving and logging information, making
copies, sorting and distributing mail, preparing correspondence or
basic documents, answering routine questions and inquires,
providing information and directions and providing a customer
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provides administrative support to faculty or staff within a
Operates a variety of office equipment, such as a personal
computer, printer, photocopier, transcriber, facsimile, scanner, or
calculator. Progressively utilizes the features of one or more
standard business software packages up to the following skill
Word Processing : Inputs and edits standard text for routine
cor respondence and reports
Spreadsheets : Inputs and updates d ata to established
Database s : Enters or edits data to existing database
Opens, sorts, and distribute s mail for one or more
Types and proofreads letters, memorandums, forms, and
Monitors and orders forms and materials
Answers phone; takes mes sages, and/or redirects callers; m ay
serve as the primary point of customer contact for the office,
fielding miscellaneous questions and problem solving basic
Maintains and files department documents
Some positions may assist faculty with preparation of syllabi
and tests, prepares and distributes faculty evaluations
Some positions may assis t in input of semester schedule
Responsible for other reasonable, related d uties as
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

PHYSICAL ABILITIES :
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to
do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending;
carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or
driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to
perform the work.
WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS
- Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a
Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general
- Internal and external contacts as needed to carry ou t the
functions of the position
- Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with min imal
exposure to safety hazards
- High school diploma or GED and a t least 1 year of related work
experience, or an equivalent combination of education and
Hiring salary range is $29,027 - $33,381.
Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted
full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall
in that range is determined by your related experience and
education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star
