Associate Director - Academic Program Review

POSITION IS ELIGIBLE FOR PRIMARLY REMOTE WORK:
Northeastern is a global university and the Provost Office supports its team working remote with the ability to commute to the Boston campus as needed based on position need. Remote locations and work schedules are determined based on operational needs and in consultation with Team members, consistent with University policies and guidance.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Associate Director of Academic Program Review is a new position responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of the University's academic program review process. The position will collaborate with leadership within each college to facilitate the process, manage documentation and reporting, and provide expertise and support for all elements of the program review process.

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Institutional Assessment & Evaluation in the Office of the Provost. The Office of Institutional Assessment coordinates program and general education assessment across the colleges in close collaboration with college leadership, Academic Technology and CATLR. The goal of assessment of student learning outcomes is to provide meaningful information for continuous improvement and to meet accreditation standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's Degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience managing assessment, accreditation, evaluation, and research in higher education or related field.
  • Experience teaching and/or training, preferably in higher education.


PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Leadership skills with the vision to create an operational process that is efficient and effective
  • Technical document management and organization skills, including sharepoint. Ability to quickly learn new platforms.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate and communicate in person and in writing with leadership, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to produce and provide professional development and supporting materials on program review elements for a college leadership, program directors, faculty and staff.
  • Ph.D. preferred.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Develop a systematic program review process that includes a review of evidence of student success, program effectiveness and incorporates an external perspective.
  • Develop a centralized university process and structure while customizing the process to meet each College's needs and culture.
  • Collaborate with leadership within each college to refine their program review process, define a timeline and prioritize the process across their programs.
  • Collaborate with University Decision Support, Academic Technology, CATRL and other university offices to develop and support elements of program review.
  • Create and maintain the procedures and systems that collect and organize program review documentation and evidence for each college through the Office of Institutional Assessment and Evaluation SharePoint site and other technologies, as appropriate.
  • Create and maintain institutional summary dashboards and reports on the status of program reviews. Establish and maintain communication with all stakeholders to update progress and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Provide leadership and expertise on the elements of program review and work with college leadership to ensure the timely completion of meaningful program reviews.
  • Develop and lead ongoing workshops, create and maintain resources, provide consultation and technical support on program review topics for faculty and program directors.
  • Supervise graduate student interns
  • Build assessment capacity and the community of practice to promote and strengthen the NU assessment ecosystem.
