Position Title
Open Rank Teaching Faculty - Economics and Business (Business Management/Marketing)
The Opportunity
The Department of Economics and Business at the Colorado School of Mines invites applications for a full-time teaching faculty position to begin in August 2023.
The position is non-tenure-track open rank. We are looking to hire a new faculty member whose primary expertise is in strategic management with additional expertise in marketing or international business preferred. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach graduate and undergraduate courses including strategic management, technology management, international business, marketing, entrepreneurship, and leadership via online and traditional modalities. Further, the new faculty member will be expected to collaborate effectively in curriculum development, innovative pedagogy, and other departmental service. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are highly desirable. Candidates must exhibit the potential and desire to be involved in the improvement of our degree programs.
The priority deadline for applications is March 1, 2023. All applications received after this deadline will be secondary and may not be reviewed.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver course materials in traditional, online, and hybrid modalities demonstrating teaching excellence.
- Contribute both institutionally and professionally through active service.
- Cultivate and promote an inclusive and diverse Mines community through recruiting, mentorship, and service.
- Collaborate across campus representing the department.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in in Strategic Management, Marketing, or closely related field from an accredited program by the time the appointment begins.
- Successful record of college-level teaching experience in strategic management, international business, and/or marketing
- Teaching Assistant Professor: 0-3 years of experience in teaching and educational service.
- Teaching Associate Professor: 3-7 years of demonstrated teaching excellence and evidence of educational service.
- Teaching Professor: 7 plus years of demonstrated qualifications for teaching excellence and evidence of educational service plus leadership and application of educational research.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and curriculum development.
- Established record of service.
- Experience managing and developing undergraduate programs
- Successful record of graduate-level teaching in strategic management, international business, and/or marketing.

Pay Range
Mines is offering an academic year salary of $85,000 - $138,000
Mines takes into consideration a combination of candidate’s education, training and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, work location, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees.
