Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Web Design Technician is a Tier 1 web support technician. This technician will handle basic (Tier 1) service requests in the Team Dynamix electronic ticketing system. These include responsibilities such as:
·Handling requests for permissions to edit a UNCW website
·Handling requests for training in our Cascade Content Management System ( CMS )
·Monitoring training assessments
·Handling requests for Google Analytics reports
·Answering support questions about how to perform tasks in the CMS
·Helping to make advanced edits in the CMS
·Building new websites from provided templates
·Migrating web content to new template designs
·Reviewing and preparing websites for launch
·Maintaining a review cycle of CMS content for quality control
Training: You will receive training in Team Dynamix, Cascade CMS, and Google Analytics. You will also be provided with documentation for common tasks.
Expectations: While this is a technical job, it is also creative and customer-service oriented. In all respects, it can be quite rewarding. You will get to tackle technical problems and apply both established and creative solutions. In our approach to customer service, we aim to be prompt, professional, and helpful; solving problems in the present while providing knowledge to empower clients going forward.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
As a guide, the minimum education and experience: generally graduation from high school and four years of related experience.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
·Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical people
·Great communication skills via email, over the phone, and in person
·Experience with or willingness to learn HTML and CSS ·Willingness to learn the Cascade CMS ·Willingness to learn our ticketing system, Team Dynamix
·Basic knowledge of web, UI, and UX design best practices
·Experience with Cascade CMS and Team Dynamix ticketing system
·Experience with JavaScript and jQuery ·Experience working with existing stylesheets and scripts ·Experience writing documentation and instructional material
