Position Description
The School of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Texas State University invites applicants for one full-time (nine-month) tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2023. Responsibilities include high-quality research, undergraduate and graduate level teaching, and university, professional, and community service. Required Qualifications
The successful candidate must have:
- earned (or anticipate earning by the beginning of the Fall 2023 semester) a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or related field; those who hold a JD only will not be considered
- evidence of peer-reviewed publication
All areas of expertise will be considered.
Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate:
- potential for high-quality and sustained scholarly productivity
- potential for seeking and/or securing external grant funding
- evidence of effective teaching that serves department needs
- ability to contribute to University and School goals to promote a diverse and inclusive environment
