Executive Director of the CSUSM Corporation and Associate Vice President for Business Development

California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) seeks applications and nominations for the role of Executive Director of the CSUSM Corporation and Associate Vice President for Business Development.

As one of three auxiliary organizations for CSUSM, the CSUSM Corporation is a self-supporting 501(c)(3) nonprofit that advances CSUSM’s mission by providing instructional support and services not typically provided by the state, including support for sponsored projects, real estate and property management, campus dining and student housing services, commercial partners management, business operations, and summer conferences. The Executive Director, in leading the Corporation, provides innovative and entrepreneurial leadership, strategic planning, financial management, and organizational development. In addition, the Executive Director will provide a creative and ambitious vision in seeking new forms of revenue generation, will be dedicated to serving a diverse student body, and will demonstrate excellent managerial and contract negotiation skills.

Since its founding in 1989 as the California State University’s 20th campus, California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) has grown to serve over 16,000 students across its 43 undergraduate and 25 graduate programs. A comprehensive public university offering diverse academic programs, the campus prides itself on exemplary teaching, innovative and experiential curricula, and the application of new technologies to solve real problems. A national model for student access and success, more than 50 percent of CSUSM graduates are the first in their families to earn a bachelor’s degree. CSUSM is a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) and enrolls more Native American students per capita than any other California State University campus. CSUSM grounds its mission in the public trust, alignment with regional needs, and sustained enrichment of the intellectual, civic, economic, and cultural life of the region and state.
