The Agnes Scott College Department of Public Health is seeking a part-time instructor to teach Health Policy in the Spring of 2023. The successful applicant will have a minimum of a master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) and preferably have a Ph.D. or be ABD in a Ph.D. program. Candidates will also be asked to provide evidence of excellence in teaching, ideally at the undergraduate level.

The health policy course is designed to introduce students to different models of health care delivery and finance, including universal, single-payer, privatized, and “out-of-pocket” systems. It should address the strengths and weaknesses of different health care models with attention to cost, quality, access, ethics and human rights, as well as the socio-cultural, historical, economic and political factors that led specific countries, including the U.S., to adopt different health systems. Preference will be given to candidates who are able to discuss approaches to leadership in the field of health policy and management, in both domestic and global settings.
