Assistant/Associate/Professor

Assistant/Associate/Professor

As part of a major new initiative in decentralization through blockchains and their applications, Princeton University invites applications for a faculty position at the junior or senior level (Assistant, tenured Associate, or Full Professor rank) across all areas of engineering and at the intersection of engineering with the social sciences and the humanities. Fields of interest include blockchains, cryptocurrencies, their applications, and the decentralization of trust and power in society through technology. We are particularly interested in applicants who cross the boundary of blockchain technology and applications of the technology. Demonstrated interest in the governance of blockchains and applications is beneficial. We seek faculty members who will create a climate that embraces excellence and diversity, with a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring. The faculty hire will contribute to the momentum already building across Princeton University in blockchains and their applications.

Applicants must have a strong record of research productivity, demonstrate the ability or potential to develop a rigorous research program, and be committed to teaching and mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The university is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic community with a culturally diverse faculty. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from members of groups that have been historically underrepresented in their chosen fields. Faculty appointments resulting from this search may be made with a range of different departments at Princeton University. Applications must be submitted online at https://www.princeton.edu/acad-positions/position/27201 and should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a research statement, and a teaching statement, as well as contact information for at least three references. Applicant review will begin in November 2022. For full consideration, please submit applications no later than December 31, 2022.

Princeton University is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. The selected candidate will be required to successfully complete a background check.
