Position Summary:

Are you an experienced relational administrative professional seeking an opportunity to advance your career and work within a diverse and dynamic work environment? Then consider our Executive Assistant role who supports UD's Provost, one of our senior leaders at the University! We are actively seeking a candidate who is comfortable working with c-suite level executives and developing relationships with a diverse community of constituents, has strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and has the ability to work independently.

This is a full time benefit eligible position that offers health, dental and vision insurance, retirement, disability, tuition assistance for you and your dependents, vacation/sick accrual and holiday pay.

The Executive Assistant is part of a collaborative, inclusive office that interacts with the leadership of the university across academic and business units. The Executive Assistant reports directly to the Provost and with very general guidance acts on behalf of the Provost using Independent judgment to make decisions. The position manages the day to day operations of the Provost's Office, serving as the primary point of contact between the office and the University community and external public, facilitates the work of select committees on which the Provost serves or which report to the Provost, and collaborates with the offices of the President, other Vice Presidents, Associate Provosts, Deans and others in support of various Provost and University initiatives.

The Executive Assistant is also responsible for the appropriate delegation to and oversight of work for the office staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or five years executive level office experience could stand in lieu of a degree.
- Three years of executive level office experience.
- Successful experience in:
--- supervising and directing the work of others;
--- developing positive working relationships with a diverse community of constituents; and
--- building and leading teams.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Proven organizational skills.
- Familiarity with the University's Catholic and Marianist character.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

- Five or more years executive level office experience preferably at a college/university.
- Successful experience using independent, ethical judgment and problem solving skills in one or more of the following:
--- decision making;
--- selecting appropriate procedures;
--- recommending and implementing change;
--- resolving obstacles and setbacks;
--- adapting to change
- Successful experience effectively multi tasking in demanding environment.
- Successful experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.
