Under the supervision of Dr. Storholm and the SHEL Lab Manager, the Graduate Research Assistant will assist with enrolling and onboarding participants into research projects, data collection, data analysis, and other research tasks for NIH-funded research projects focused on the prevention of HIV/STI transmission among sexual minority men, transgender, and nonbinary identified individuals. This is currently evaluating the impact of intimate partner violence (IPV) on health behaviors among a prospective cohort of 500 sexual minority men, particularly as it relates to engaging in HIV and STI risk and prevention behaviors. This study will run entirely virtually/online with participants from all over the United States. The Graduate Research Assistant will support this work by enrolling and onboarding participants into the study over zoom, working as a liaison between research participants and the research team, participating in data collection, and will have the opportunity to assist in data analysis and dissemination of findings.

  • This project is currently implementing and pilot testing PrEP Well, a comprehensive implementation strategy that addresses structural barriers to HIV prevention for trans and nonbinary identified persons by integrating culturally appropriate and gender-affirming PrEP care into existing sexual and gender wellness services at a Los Angeles Based trans community center.
