Position Summary:
The Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) is a federally funded TRIO program that helps adults enroll in college and career training programs. The Project Support Specialist performs administrative and fiscal management activities for the successful administration of the EOC grant. This individual will be responsible for the intake process, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing staff calendars. They will support collecting and inputting participant records and case notes. Additionally, this role will help maintain project budgets, coordinating project(s) fiscal operations; providing logistical support; and informing the development and maintenance of the unit's (TRIO-INSPIRE) office support policies and procedures. This position is part-time, working 20 hours per week. It is eligible for benefits, and located in EOC's main office in downtown Boise.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.




Experience:
  • Working in a customer service environment;
  • In maintaining and compiling data;
  • In navigating and applying relevant policies and procedures;
  • Using forms of professional communication.
  • Work environments that require multiple tasks, and responsibilities, such as strong organizational and time management skills;





Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree



Ability to:
  • Interpret, apply, and explain complex information including regulations, policies, or services;
  • Manage and coordinate multiple schedules;
  • Think critically, act independently, and exercise initiative, maintain confidentiality;
  • Work with diverse individuals from varying cultural backgrounds;
  • Monitor record systems to identify and correct errors, be detailed-oriented;
Experience in:
  • Working in databases for information storage, data retrieval, analysis, and reporting
  • Analyzing fiscal and budgetary information, maintaining accounting systems, monitoring budgets, including managing expenditures and reconciling accounts;
  • Using office software, including working proficiency in cloud-based platforms, Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
Knowledge of:
  • University of Idaho’s TRIO Programs and the socio-economic/educational/cultural characteristics of the populations served;
  • The regulations and legislation governing TRIO programs;


Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:



Required Licensures, Certifications or other
  • Work non standard hours when necessary, and occasional overnight travel.
