Position Description
The Assistant Registrar for Exams will serve as a leader in Academic Planning and a key member of the Registrars management team. The Assistant Registrar will partner with the Associate Registrar and other Assistant Registrar in leading the Academic Planning team, which performs critical FAS functions including: exams management, classroom scheduling, curriculum management, course sectioning, and the Faculty handbook.
This position will play a key role in the assessment, prioritization, and management of exams-related projects. The Assistant Registrar will supervise full time staff and multiple seasonal and student employees, including assessing performance, guiding day-to-day activities, and utilizing resources wisely. This position will also contribute to the formulation of Registrar, College, and GSAS student enrollment policies and other Registrar responsibilities as assigned.
Responsibilities include:
Manage the administration of FAS seated out of sequence exams during term time, including: oversee exam scheduling and the administration of academic accommodations; communicate and enforce FAS exam policy; allocate resources and staffing for exams in collaboration with external offices such as Accessible Education and Education Support Services; utilize student information system to track logistics. Create the FAS final exam schedule; manage exams-related communications sent to students, faculty, and residential staff.
Supervise 40 temporary employees who proctor exams each semester.
