Position Summary:  The University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks to hire a faculty member with research and teaching interests in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Medical Imaging. This position in Electrical and Computer Engineering is part of a campus-wide cluster initiative to expand and broaden interdisciplinary expertise in AI in Precision Medical Imaging and Diagnostics. The three faculty comprising the cluster will build a world-class core of interdisciplinary strength in artificial intelligence, computational imaging, computer vision, medical imaging, and AI in medical diagnostics that integrate imaging data with other medical information.

The cluster hiring initiative involves the Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Radiology, Medical Physics, Computer Science, and the Business School. It is anticipated that successful candidates will develop strong collaborations with existing medical imaging research programs, within the College of Engineering, across campus, and with extramural partners beyond UW-Madison. The faculty position is targeted at the tenure-track Assistant Professor level, but outstanding candidates at all levels will be considered. Responsibilities: Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and contributing to curriculum updates and innovations; mentoring graduate students and supervising their research; developing and directing a strong, extramurally funded research program; participating in departmental and university faculty governance; and contribution to professional and public service.

Work Type: This position is Full Time: 100%  It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Education: Required Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related field.
