Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
- Ability to prepare clear, concise, grammatically correct correspondence.
- Extensive knowledge of MS Office programs, to include Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience with routine office tasks including answering phones and greeting visitors.
- Experience maintaining and filing system and handling confidential files.
- Ability to work independently and within a teamwork environment.
- Experience with Banner, CatsWeb, SAP, LOGI, Canvas, Calico, GADU, Apply Texas, and Slate.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience in a college or university setting.
- Collegial and courteous attitude.
- Experience with event planning.
- Experience working with and assisting students.
Responsible for providing administrative and general clerical support to three Graduate Program Directors in the Department of Sociology.
Job Duties
- Compile, prepare, and maintain organized reports, records and forms for three Graduate Program Directors, the Graduate College, Financial Aid, the Department Chair, and/or other university offices.
- Complete all tasks associated with graduate program applications, registration, and degree audits, to include lifting holds, providing departmental approvals, and submitting substitutions for courses.
- Assist graduate students, alumni, the Graduate Program Directors and Department Chair as needed.
- Develop and implement effective graduate student recruitment strategies.
- Implement and coordinate department-sponsored events for graduate students.
- Manage public relations and communications for Sociology graduate programs.
- Coordinate Graduate Instructional Assistant ( GIA ) and Graduate Teaching Assistant ( GTA ) assignments.
