Position Description

The Ingram School of Engineering of Texas State University has launched a new civil engineering program focused on the breadth of concepts associated with technology-enhanced (Smart) infrastructure. Currently, the program seeks to fill a non-tenure line Senior Lecturer position to begin in the Spring 2023 semester. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach general civil engineering courses, including design courses, at the undergraduate and graduate levels. A background in geotechnical or structural engineering is preferred.

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in civil engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Record of teaching experience at the university level related to civil engineering.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness in American universities or industry training experience.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in civil engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Expertise in foundation design, structural design, or pavement materials.
  • Demonstrated leadership roles in civil engineering related professional organizations.
  • Record of professional publications and presentations.
  • Professional Licensure/Registration (PE) or the ability to obtain licensure within three years of initial hire.
