Job Description:

The Sr. Lifeguard is responsible for maintaining the safety of the students, staff, and guests at the swimming pool.

Respond to all emergencies in pool area and provide appropriate care.

Perform lifeguarding skills, such as rescues and first aid.

Recognize and report pool related hazards to the supervisor.

Enforce pool rules consistently.

Assist in maintaining a clean pool environment.

Complete all accident, incident, and rescue reports.

Attend and participate in all scheduled staff meetings and trainings.

Maintain current certifications.

Related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED



ABILITY TO:

Communicate effectively.

Use good judgment under stressful situations.

Develop, maintain, and foster effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Work with, and exhibit sensitivity to, the varied racial, ethnic, cultural, sexual orientation, academic, socio-economic, and disabled populations of community college students.

Report to work on a regular and consistent basis, as scheduled, to the assigned job.

Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and organization of assigned area; ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures; monitor activities in designated area; enforce policies for proper use and behavior.
